Jaylyn and Nicholas were our last wedding of 2023, and what a wedding it was! Their big day was the perfect way to wrap up our wedding season. These two lovebirds live closer to the western part of the state, but tied the knot at the beautiful Amazing Graze Barn in Louisburg, NC. This was not my first wedding at the gorgeous venue, but it was my first time working with the wonderful coordinator Elizabeth Dunlow of Wedding Planning NC. I also worked alongside the couples’ incredible videographers, When Two Become One Films, and we all got along so well to make sure Jaylyn and Nicholas’ day was absolutely flawless!

The Amazing Graze wedding venue is a real working farm, complete with rows of vineyards, ponds surrounded by grazing cattle, donkeys, goats, and even a few pigs! The grounds themselves are made up of serene and lush countryside. There are even a few silos, which of course adds to the quaint and beautiful scenery. It is such a peaceful location to have a wedding! The main barn has two floors, with the top floor being where the ceremony was held, and the bottom being an open room for their perfect reception. One of the main aesthetic draws to this wedding venue is the large window shaped into a cross. It is absolutely magnificent and breathtaking.
Jaylyn and Nicholas shared with me that when Nicholas proposed, the two were having a romantic date at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC. In the spot where he actually popped the question (and Jaylyn of course said “Yes!”), there’s also a large window shaped into a cross! So these two clearly couldn’t have found a more perfect wedding venue for them than the Amazing Graze Barn!

Jaylyn and Nicholas opted for a sweet first touch, over a first look, which I loved for them! They held hands on opposite sides of a corner and caught up with one another, which undoubtedly eased any jitters and got them both excited for their upcoming walks down the aisle. Jaylyn did choose to do first looks with her father, as well as Nicholas’ father, both of which led to tears all around!
Nicholas and his crew enjoyed some of the perks of the guys’ suite at Amazing Graze, which had an oversized jenga game to keep them busy just outside of where they got ready. Once everyone was dressed and ready, it was time for the wedding! Jaylyn and Nicholas said their vows inside the barn, backlit by the sunlight streaming in through the large window cross as they became husband and wife. It was absolutely beautiful to witness!
We were able to get most of the portraits done prior to the ceremony starting, and guests enjoyed a cocktail hour while we wrapped up the remaining necessary photos. This time of year (December) golden hour tends to arrive around the same time we’re taking portraits, so the light was even and flattering as we walked the grounds for their newlywed photos. Jaylyn and Nicholas are so sweet together, it was easy to capture photos of them looking natural and in love!
Their reception was a party for the record books, complete with a DJ, bubbles, and a surprise mother and son breakout dance! We wrapped up the day with sparklers shining in the darkness, as Jaylyn and Nicholas danced their way down the lines of guests. It was the most magical day for this sweet couple! Congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Sowa!
If you’re here because you’re recently engaged, and looking for the perfect photographer to be along your side for your wedding journey, look no further! I would be absolutely honored to work with you and capture all of the details you’ve got planned. Send me an inquiry and let’s get to know each other to see if we’d be a perfect fit!
